26 Tools [2021]





26 Tools is an exploration of the creative beneficence and calligraphic content of homemade writing tools using 2 classic fonts (Roman and Batarde) - 26 Tools is an exercise based on the western alphabet history. 

Taking the Covid-19 lockdown measures into account, the tool is created with found objects within the home front, with the idea that limitation,'doing it with what you have' sparks creativity. 

This view is reflected in the tools themselves. Each tool has its flaws that will distort the usual rules of its assigned letter. The homemade tools are a nod to artistic amateurism, with a focus on graffiti culture.






From A to Z, each letter is assigned a random d.i.y. tool. The operation of each graphic tool is demonstrated in an online logbook. Each letter is demonstrated in three ways: Roman style, Batarde style and with the alchemist symbol
